What Is The Purple Heart?
The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH), sometimes just referred to as Purple Heart, is a national military veterans organization chartered by Congress over 70 years ago. The organization caters to the needs of veterans and funds welfare, rehabilitation and educational programs specifically tailored to all veterans and their families.
The support for the organization comes in its majority from the sale of items, including cars and household items, donated to the Purple Heart by generous people like you.
What is the Purple Heart?
The Purple Heart is a US military decoration awarded in the name of the President of the United States to anyone that has been wounded or killed in active duty.
The Purple Heart was established by first Presindent of the United States (George Washington) and was initially called the Badge of Military Merit. It is the oldest of any military decoration still in existence.
The Purple Heart medals being awarded today are part of the 500000 medals done for WW II but that were never used.
The Purple Heart defers from other medals, in that one is not recommended for a Purple Heart, but instead eligible once wounded or killed while serving.
Charles Bronson and Oliver Stone are two celebrities which have received Purple Hearts.
Why donate to the Purple Heart?
One of the benefits of donating to the Purple Heart is the tax deductible nature of the donations. You can probably get a larger tax deduction than you otherwise would have received if you decided to sell items. All while avoiding the hassles associated with selling your stuff. Along with helping veterans and their families, you are also getting a tax benefit by donating to the Purple Heart.
How to go about donating to the Purple Heart
Some of the items you can donate to the Purple Heart are usable clothing, household items and cars. You can get the items picked up at your house, with no cost, by the Purple Heart organization. To accept your donation, the items need to be in usable condition.
If you which to donate a car you can fill out an online form or call the organization´s toll free number. Once this is done you will be contacted by a towing company to arrange for removal of your car at a time of your convenience and at no cost to you. For income tax purposes The Purple Heart organization will send you a tax deductible donation receipt once your car is received.

There was a video game based on Vietnam a few years ago that I really liked. I've never seen another that was anything I was interested in much. However, the ads for Medal of Honor look interesting. If I had a game machine I would like to try it.
-- And just reading the answer above me, I forgot the big issue with the game is being able to play both sides. Many games have had that option. This one just deals with more current events. It isn't as if you are going to learn to be an insurgent or terrorist playing the game any more than you are going to qualify for SEALs, Special Forces, or Recon playing the game.
The world has gotten to be too sensitive about a whole spectrum of issues. People need to step back, take a deep breath, and go on with their lives.
